Picture of the Month - September

I had been waiting for a morning like this for almost three years. On this September morning a beautiful dawn came together with low tide and I was finally able to photograph the vast mudflats of the Fergus Estuary the way I had wanted to. Here, just south of Clarecastle, the Fergus meets the Shannon and creates the largest mudflat area in Ireland and an important habitat for waders and winter visitors like the Brent Goose.
